How long have you been in business? Do you have liability insurance?

A Daydream Wedding was established in 2014.  A Daydream Wedding is a professional, full-time business and not an operation that simply runs on the side, as a hobby or after a course we took over the weekend.  We are a licensed business in El Dorado County and we are fully insured with a $1,000,000 liability insurance policy. 

 How is A Daydream Wedding different from all the other wedding planners out there?

A Daydream Wedding is a full-service, award-winning wedding planning company.  We love guiding our clients through each step of the wedding planning process while making the whole experience fun, easy, and stress-free. We are experts at creating uniquely designed weddings that evoke emotions, engage the senses, and create everlasting memories.  And we are passionate about bringing joy to our clients and every one of their guests on the wedding day.    

A Daydream Wedding specializes in planning multi-day celebrations such as Wedding Weekends.  Not only do we help you plan a beautiful and memorable wedding day, we’re here to help you with all your wedding-related events including, but not limited to, your rehearsal dinner and post-wedding brunch. 

A Daydream Wedding is also a travel specialist.  We partner with Sandals and Beaches Resorts in the Caribbean to bring our clients luxury destination weddings and honeymoons.   And we can assist with setting up hotel room blocks and making travel arrangements for your out-of-town guests.  All travel agent services come complimentary with our packages.

How many weddings do you plan per year? Per month? Per weekend?

A Daydream Wedding produces up to 10 weddings per year.   We typically plan no more than two weddings per month, with no more than one wedding per weekend.    This is another thing that sets us apart from other wedding planning companies.  While researching wedding planners, you may find many wedding planning companies may juggle multiple clients per month and even per weekend.  We do not.   This allows us to only focus on you, not another couple, in the days leading up to your special day.

 What areas do you service?

A Daydream Wedding services the greater Sacramento area and outlying areas including Lake Tahoe, Napa, and the Bay Area.

 We are getting married in Sacramento, but don’t live in the Sacramento area, can A Daydream Wedding still help us?

Absolutely, we have helped many couples who live outside of the Sacramento area.  Having a wedding planner is quite beneficial in this situation since you most likely don’t have the time to fly in to tour venues and meet with vendors.  We assist out-of-the-area clients through the power of Skype/Zoom calls and emails. 


Questions About Our Fees & Payment Options

Does A Daydream Wedding accept credit cards?

Yes, A Daydream Wedding accepts credit cards, as well as personal checks and cash.  

Are there any extra fees in your packages?

Our Premium Wedding Planning and Design Service is all-inclusive and you will not incur any additional fees. Our Premium Wedding Planning and Design Service fees range from $10k – $17K, with most packages falling within $12k – $15k. 

Is there a charge for the Wedding Planning Consultation?

There is no charge or obligation when you schedule a Wedding Planning Consultation with A Daydream Wedding.

Does A Daydream Wedding offer any payment plans?

Yes, at the time of booking, a non-refundable down payment of 25% is due.   The remaining 75% can be split into 2 or 3 payments and is due no later than 30 days prior to the wedding date.  However, if this payment plan does not work for you, no worries, there is another option!  We partner with Vue who can create a custom payment plan for you with repayment terms that extend out up to 6 months past the date of your wedding. 

This all sounds so wonderful, but it also seems expensive.  Are we going to be able to afford this?

This may sound like a cliche, but can you afford to NOT have one?  You are probably spending quite a bit of money on your wedding day.  Investing in a wedding planner to guide you through all the steps, help you stay organized, recommend quality vendors, be your advocate, create a smooth-flowing timeline, manage the details of the wedding day, and so much more, is a small price to pay for your sanity and peace of mind.  And no, these are not things your Venue Coordinator will do for you.  Quite often our services pay for themselves because we help you to save money on your wedding by using preferred vendors and negotiating on your behalf.  Most of our clients have said that our services were the best money they spent for their wedding, as well as the best engagement gift they gave themselves.

Questions About Our Wedding Planning Services

When is the best time to hire A Daydream Wedding?

We don’t want you spending a lot of time stressed out about planning your wedding, so we recommend hiring A Daydream Wedding as soon as you get engaged.  If you are interested in our Premium Wedding Planning and Design service, we recommend booking us before you select a venue or any vendors, so we can guide you through those important decisions.  However, if you have already selected a wedding venue or a couple of vendors, it’s not too late.  We can assist you no matter where you are in the planning process. 

 This sounds exactly like what we’ve been looking for.  What is the next step?

The next step would be to schedule a free, no-obligation Wedding Planning Consultation to make sure we are a good fit and that we can meet your needs.  If we find that we are a good fit for each other then we will sign the contract and start planning your fabulous wedding!  Most consultations take between 30 minutes and one hour.

 Will you work with vendors we select or only those you recommend?

We will absolutely work with your choice of vendors.  And if you need any referrals, we have a great team of vendors we can recommend. 

How do you choose which vendors to use?

We don’t have a list of vendors and supplies that we hand out.  Instead, we have a team of quality vendors we have spent years establishing relationships with and this distinguishes our service from the rest.   If we need to refer a vendor, we recommend the vendors that best match your needs, style, and budget.  We also do not take kickbacks or commissions from any vendor.  Instead, we ask the vendor to pass them along to you in the form of a discount. 

 Does A Daydream Wedding offer partial or month-of planning?  Do You offer day-of coordination?

A Daydream Wedding offers full wedding planning and design service, which is designed for couples who want help with every step involved in the wedding planning process.   With our Premium Wedding Planning and Design Service, we plan, manage, and execute your wedding day, as well as provide all of the creative work and design ideas to bring your wedding vision to life.    Our service includes both planning and design for one main reason:  cohesion and consistency.  Not only are we coordinating all of the vendors that best fit your style and budget, we are also creating the visual direction and communicating these designs to vendors so expectations on the final product are clear, and your wedding day will look cohesive and uniform.  If we are only helping you plan parts of your wedding or just stepping in during the last month to help you tie everything together, we cannot guarantee cohesion and consistency, which is why we do not offer partial or month-of planning service.   As far as day-of coordination, we truly feel this does not exist.  Click here to read about why we believe day-of coordination is a myth.  It’s a must-see!

I’m planning a 3-day wedding weekend celebration, which includes my rehearsal dinner, wedding day, and post-wedding brunch?  Can you help me?

Yes, we can!  In fact, we specialize in multi-day celebrations and wedding weekends.  We’d love to take the planning, management, and execution of your multi-day or wedding weekend celebration off your plate!  We can assist with your rehearsal dinner, post-wedding brunch, welcome events, and much more.

Will we lose control of the wedding if we hire A Daydream Wedding?

Absolutely not!  We are here to help and guide you through the planning process, not to take over.  We will give you as much, or as little, help as you would like.  We’ll provide advice and feedback to ensure everything goes smoothly, but the wedding will be designed and executed with YOUR vision, style, and personality in mind, not ours.

My Maid of Honor is worried that you will boss everyone around on the wedding day.  Is that what will happen?

Heavens no, that is not the way we operate!  We want you to have a beautiful and memorable wedding day and we work as a team with your other vendors to create it for you.  As for the wedding party, we are there to guide them, help them, and answer their questions, not to boss them around. We believe in fun and stress-free weddings for everyone involved!

 You’re going to be busy with engagement parties, wedding showers, trying on wedding gowns, and planning your honeymoon.  So let us worry about keeping the planning and details on track throughout the process.

Is there anything else we should know about A Daydream Wedding?

At A Daydream Wedding, we take the time to get to know you, your personalities, interests, and desires.  We also help you to define your wedding goals and vision.  Then we get to work.  We begin by creating a custom task list and schedule to keep you on track during the planning process.  We also create a custom wedding budget for you. We work hard to make sure you get the most for your money, striving to come in below your budget. We recommend vendors that we trust, have a history of working with, consistently provide amazing service. Many offer discounts or complimentary upgrades, which we always pass on to you.

Questions about Sandals & Beaches Destination Weddings and Honeymoons

Does A Daydream plan destination weddings?

Yes, we do!  We can assist couples who wish to get married in the Caribbean as a Certified Sandals Specialist and through the Association of Bridal Consultants.

What are the benefits of having a destination wedding at Sandals or Beaches?

These days, couples have the option to forgo a traditional (and expensive) wedding in favor of a more intimate gathering at a destination they love.  Because they are often smaller in size than a traditional wedding, a destination wedding can be more a more affordable option for couples.  In addition, destination weddings allow couples to extend their celebration from several hours to several days (or however long you want), while creating everlasting memories with their close friends and family.  Plus, Sandals and Beaches are found on the best beaches in the Caribbean and have amazing rooms and suites.  You get the best of everything with Sandals and Beaches.

Is a destination wedding right for us and our guests?

If you’re thinking of having a destination wedding, it’s likely you’ll want your closest friends and family members to attend.  So, before you commit to a destination wedding, run the idea by your loved ones.  If there are friends or family members who will not be able to attend, consider hosting a reception at home so they can still be part of the celebration.   And if you need help planning the reception, we’re happy to help!

How much does a Sandals or Beaches destination wedding cost?

In addition to having an unforgettable experience with your loved one(s), having a destination wedding allows you to have the celebration of your dreams while still keeping within your wedding budget.  For our clients, the average cost of a destination wedding at Sandals and Beaches has been around $10,000 for 50 guests.

How much should I budget for my Sandals or Beaches destination wedding?

We’ve had couples plan simple celebrations for 20 guests and couples plan extravagant affairs for 200 guests, which have ranged between $5K – $50K.  However, the average has been approximately $10K for 50 guests. The most important factor is your guest count. The more people that attend, the larger your budget should be.

Should we pay for our guests or the wedding party’s travel and accommodations?

Only if you want to.  Here’s the thing — it’s just an invite. It’s their choice whether they come.  With that said, try to book as a group to get them the best deal and be open to changing the time of year, destination, and/or venue if you want to keep the price low or have certain people there.   We suggest letting VIPs know way ahead of time so they can start saving and planning early.

How much should I expect my guests to pay to attend my Sandals or Beaches destination wedding?

In our experience, two guests departing from the United States and sharing a room at a Sandals or Beaches resort, will pay on average about $2,000 per person for a package that includes roundtrip airfare, roundtrip airport transfers, and all-inclusive accommodations for 4 nights/5 days.

How many people should we invite?

You can invite as many people as you would like. Start with your closest family and friends and expand on your list from there. Invite who you genuinely would like to attend your wedding. Remember, your guests will also have to travel and make hotel arrangements so you will want to book as a group for the best rates and inclusions.  Be sure not to over or underestimate how much your guests are willing to spend to attend your destination wedding.   Invite who you want to come without assuming what their financial status will be.

What are the wedding sites at Sandals and Beaches?

Sandals and Beaches resorts offer breathtaking beach, garden, and gazebo wedding sites. Many of them also offer stunning chapels and sky terraces.  Check out the Sandals Wedding Planning Tool for information and photos of the wedding sites.

How do I choose which Sandals or Beaches resort is best for my destination wedding?

Every Sandals and Beaches resort is stunning, which can make it difficult to choose one for your destination wedding.  The key is to narrow down your choices.  First, take a look at the accommodations, local attractions, and wedding locations, then narrow them down based on what’s most important to you.  Discuss with each other which elements you definitely want in a resort and which elements you can live without.  For example, do you want a quiet and secluded resort focused on romance?  Or would you prefer a serene resort big on relaxation?  Or what about an upbeat resort with a fun and exciting vibe?

Should I do a site visit?

If you can swing it, we highly suggest you visit your destination and wedding site before the wedding. If you were getting married at home, would you book your venue sight unseen?  We know it might be an extra travel expense, but it is one that is worth it. If you can afford to squeeze it into the budget, you will not be disappointed.  Sandals offers an option to “Test Drive” your wedding, allowing you to check out your favorite resort and its wedding sites at a discounted rate.

What are the legal requirements when getting married at Sandals or Beaches?

Each island in the Caribbean has different requirements, but most require some form of ID (like your passports and birth certificates) and a marriage license application.  One of the great things about getting married at a Sandals or Beaches resort is that their wedding team will help you gather and complete all documents, making the process easy-breezy.  

Will my wedding at Sandals or Beaches Resort be considered legal in the United States?

Yes, a wedding at a Sandals or Beaches resort is legally binding and recognized in the United States.

Should we host a welcome party?

Guests have traveled near and far and probably haven’t all met. There is nothing like a good welcome to start the weekend off right.   And if enough guests attend, Sandals and Beaches has a complimentary option you can use for this event.   Throw in a few cocktails and live entertainment, and you are off to a memorable time.

How do I bring my wedding dress to my destination wedding at Sandals or Beaches?

While some brides pack their dress in a checked bag, we always suggest carrying your wedding dress on the plane with you in a garment bag.  This ensures that your wedding dress will not get lost during travel.  When you board the plane, ask the flight attendant if there is any room in the captain’s closet to hang your dress. If not, they are usually more than happy to assist you with placing it neatly in the overhead bin.   In addition, if you upgrade to business or first-class seats, you will be one of the first passengers to board the plane when the captain’s closet and the overhead bin spaces are less likely to be full.  Also, Sandals and Beaches provide steaming services, so there’s no need to worry about a few wrinkles here and there!

Where are Sandals and Beaches Resorts located in the Caribbean?

There are 20 resorts in the Caribbean to choose from.  Sandals has 17 resorts, including 7 resorts in Jamaica, 3 in St. Lucia, 2 in the Bahamas, 2 in Barbados, 1 in Grenada, 1 in Antigua, and 1 in Curacao.  Beaches has 3 resorts, including 2 in Jamaica, 1 in Turks & Caicos.

What is the difference between Sandals and Beaches Resorts?  Which is best for my destination wedding?  Which is best for my honeymoon?

Both Sandals and Beaches are all-inclusive, luxury Caribbean resorts.   They offer the same inclusions and amenities.   The difference is that Sandals are for adults only and Beaches are family-friendly.   Sandals Resorts are designed for couples and romance, making it the ideal location for a romantic honeymoon or an adult-only destination wedding.  While Beaches Resorts are designed for all ages, making it the perfect resort for a multi-generational destination wedding.

How much does a honeymoon at Sandals Resorts cost?

The cost of your honeymoon at a Sandals Resort would be based on your departure city, the time of year you will be traveling, and the level of accommodations chosen.  In our experience, the average cost of a 6 night/7 day honeymoon at a Sandals resort has been approximately $5,000.
