We have another wedding from last year that we can’t wait to tell you all about!
Melissa and Armando celebrated the day of their wedding at the Sacramento Zoo. What a fun idea! This was truly unique! They had their wedding in September and the weather was just perfect. Having the wedding at the Sacramento Zoo was such a great way to get in touch with nature, animals, and the fresh air outdoors.
The theme was of course zoo animals! Almost everything had zoo animal patterns and touches, right down to the ribbons on the wedding party flowers. The ceremony took place the giraffe deck, which was perfectly shaded during the time of the ceremony. When they guests arrived, they found cute animal print hand fans on their chairs, which kept them perfectly cool during the ceremony. The ceremony took place under a wrought iron arch draped with beautiful vivid color flowers by Strelitzia Florist, with a majestic oak tree in the background. The wedding ceremony was officiated by the groom’s sister and was very touching and emotional. After the ceremony, the bride and groom stuck around to participate in a private feeding of the giraffes, while the guests moved over to the Flamingo Pond area for the cocktail hour.
When the guests arrived to the Flamingo Pond area for the cocktail hour and reception they were greeted with fun appetizers and drinks. They enjoyed how the zoo animals theme was incorporated into the reception decor. It was the perfect place for the reception inside the zoo. The pond was bordered by a bamboo-style fence that gave the area a tropical feel. On the guest tables were vases with bright orange daisies, animal figurines, a jungle-looking plant, and animal print votives, cutely arranged on wood rounds and vivid animal print napkins! A sweetheart table for Melissa and Armando was in the middle of the reception space and was marked by an adorable animal print ribbon garland. While guests were waiting for Melissa and Armando to join the cocktail hour, they had some fun at the Polaroid Guest Book table and participated in an animal encounter where they got to meet and pet some of the zoo animals. Melissa and Armando joined the cocktail hour right after sunset as the string lights and paper lanterns strung overhead turned on and gave the area a more romantic feel. And to go perfectly with their zoo animals theme, their announcement song was “Animals” by Maroon 5. So fun! They had such extraordinary ideas and everything turned out amazing!
