At A Daydream Wedding, we love to celebrate anniversaries.   We are constantly wishing our prior clients a “Happy Anniversary” on our social media accounts.  But today, I get the pleasure of telling you about an anniverary that is near and dear to my heart.  My own wedding anniversary, which I celebrated in Pacifica, CA with my wonderful hubby.

We chose to celebrate our anniversary in Pacifica because that is the city where we got engaged eight years ago.  And we had the most wonderful time.   We stayed at the Pacifica Beach Hotel.   We chose this hotel as it is right on the beach and has an in-room jacuzzi tub.  So romantic!   And the hotel is very classy.  They offer you a glass of champagne as you check in to the hotel.  And they can do special things in your room for honeymoons and anniversaries.   Things like decorating your bed with rose petals and leaving a bottle of wine and two wine glasses.

Before we left for our anniversary trip, we purchased some matching shirts from one of our favorite Sacramento area vendors, Baezies.  If you haven’t heard of Baezies yet, you should check them out.  Baezies creates matching apparel for couples.   The first day, we wore our “Mavericks” shirts, which have the coordinates for Mavericks Beach, where my hubby proposed to me.  The second day, we wore our “Hooked” shirts.   We got compliments all weekend on our matching shirts.  It was so fun!

Day 1: Saturday

First, we walked along the trails of Pacifica Beach.  The waves were perfect that day and there were tons of surfers in the water.  Next, we headed down the highway about 5 miles to Rockaway Beach.   Rockaway Beach is a little town with shops and restaurants along the beach.   We checked out some antique shops, jewelry shops, and ate a nice lunch.   Then we walked up and down the coastline some more.   After that, we decided to check out Sam’s Castle.  It is an actual castle built near the coastline of Pacifica.  The castle was closed, so we were not able to tour the inside, but we got some great pictures of the outside of the castle.  The castle looks like something right out of a Shakespeare play!

Day 2: Sunday

The next day, we drove about 15 miles down the coast to Half Moon Bay, where we checked out the Ritz Carlton Hotel.  The Ritz Carlton is a famous and picturesque hotel which has appeared in many movies, like “American Wedding” and “Chasing Mavericks”. The Ritz Carlton is so luxurious and has the most beautiful grounds.  We checked out the Coastside Trail, which is very popular with visitors and it winds alongside the 18th Hole of the Half Moon Bay Golf Course and then continues alongside the ocean.  The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out.  And the trail was magnificent.  As we were walking along the trail, we came across a heart somebody had made out of seashells.   This was an unexpected, but marvelous thing to see.

The whole time we were on the Ritz Carlton grounds, I was thinking this would be the best place to have a wedding.   I wanted to see some weddings that were held at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, so I searched online for some photos.  Here are just a couple of the wedding ceremony setups I found.  I hope I get to do a wedding there someday.  That would be one of my daydreams come true! If you would like to get married at the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, we can help you plan all the details. Click here for information about our planning packages.

The anniversary trip was just what I needed.   A little down time with my honey to rest and relax, giving me some much needed rejuvenation to get through the rest of this years wedding season.   What are your plans for your next wedding anniversary?
